I love learning new kpop dance moves from Ally. She combines trendy idol moves with house and hip hop dancing. Today we’re dancing with Jeffrey and Mari and we’ll be learning how to do the Skate and the Pas De Bourree.
Kpop Dance Groove
Dancing kpop is not easy. Kpop idols train for years to make the moves look smooth and natural. Don’t worry, we’re not training to be the next NewJeans, we’re here to have fun and dance like nobody’s watching.
I love learning new moves and adding it to my list of grooves I can bust out. Sometimes it can be scary to learn a new move especially if it’s a genre that’s out of your comfort zone. Kpop dance for one is out of my comfort zone, but every time I watch a kpop video, I become hypnotized. I’m so excited when I start a kpop dance class because I know it’s going to be a challenge and very choreography heavy. At the end of the class, I feel very accomplished and I get a great physical and mental workout.
Which move will you try? Show it off on instagram. Use #hsfteam and tag us @hipshakefitness on your posts so we can give you some booty taps.
Basic Kpop Dance Moves
Today, we have a 5 minute tutorial of two basic kpop dance moves from Ally. These moves can be added to any choreography or you can bust it out any time on the dance floor. Don’t forget, the video below is only a clip from a full class so head over to our online dance studio to get the full thing if you loved this tutorial.
1. Skate
This move is a great booty workout. It’s a more fun version of a squat and you can go fast or slow with it. If you keep skating for a few reps everyday, you’ll definitely get those booty gains.
2. Pas De Bourree
The pas de bourree is a classic move that you’ll encounter across all dance genres. It’s a fundamental transition move that will level up your dance skills for sure.
