Hip hop dance gets my heart pumpin’ and keeps me warm in the winter. I love the different styles and the different attitudes that come with it too. When I learn a new hip hop choreography, I channel the energy of the song and let it take over my body. I hope these routines will help you stay warm and bust a move!
Hip Hop Dancing
The first dance class I ever tried was a hip hop dance class and I was hooked. There’s something about the beats and hitting that choreography combo that made me feel powerful. I also had so much sweat after class that I knew this is the perfect class when the weather is cold.
Today, I want to share some of my favorite hip hop dance routines that are all accessible on YouTube. These routines have different personalities, but they’re all super fun. There will be some Old School Hip Hop, Flirty Hip Hop and a routine that needs high heels. I think you’ll really love the variety in these dances then you can pick which routine will be your main squeeze. These dances are great for warm ups or just to get your blood flowing when you need it. Give them a shot and give hip hop dancing a try.

My Favorite Hip Hop Dance Routines
1. A Flirty Type Of Hip Hop
In this video, you’ll learn a quick combo with Nicole. This is a diva/flirty type of hip hop that’s full of feminine energy. Learn how to diva walk, Janet Jackson moves and perform the shooting star and BE the star of your own hip hop video. This is really great for beginners and any Janet Jackson fans!
2. Old School TLC Dance
TLC was my JAM growing up so anytime I do this choreo, it takes me back. I love how cool this piece makes me feel and it’s great to reminisce on classic old school moves too. You get to do the creep and the snake so you really feel like you’re back in the 90’s. Grab a snapback while you’re at it and get in the spirit.
3. Hip Hop In Heels
Now who’s ready to kick it up a notch? We’re adding some heels to the mix! Kaleila created a choreo that combines some soft hip hop with fierce heels moves. You get to booty pop, do some hairography and really work those calves too. Don’t be afraid of those heels babe, embrace them and dance like nobody’s watching.
4. Sexy Hip Hop In Havana
We’re adding a little Latin flair to our hip hop routine with Ashley. This choreo is so hot from the salsa steps to the hip rolls, it’s got everything. I also love that you get to add your own flair to some of the moves because that really makes the choreography unique. I can’t wait for you to try it.
5. Twerk It Out
Last but not least, my favorite type of hip hop is twerking. Nothing energizes me more than popping my booty up in the air and feeling the groove. This choreo is a little more advanced, so if you need to take it step by step, I suggest learning it by verse. The good news is that a lot of it repeats so I know you’ll get it in no time.
